Sifu Graham's Martial Arts Expierence
Austin Fitness Martial Arts
I got in to martial arts specifically to get in shape and learn to fight. At the time I started doing Kung-Fu with Sifu Jeff Hughes at Austin Fitness Martial Arts I was really unhelathy and sick. I also weighed about 130 lbs on a good day and I was 5'10". A coworker refered me to the school and I decided to go try out a class. It was the hardest thing I think I have tried to do. I had been looking for a martial arts school for about a year and after visiting several other schools I was throughly impressed and was ready to sign up. The training was difficult and challenged me everytime I went back no matter how good I thought I was doing. This was very refreshing because school was always very easy for me and I was not challenged a lot in my daily life or at work. It has been 12 years since that time I first stepped into the school and I do not regret a single day that I have been here. The school and Master Hughes has taught me how to deal with change on a daily basis as well as how to be able to grow and perform to my potential everytime I take a task on. I have seen a lot of people start and get distracted who were much more talented in martial arts than I am. Never able to realize thier full potential as people and martial artists. I have also seen a lot of people stay and grow to become better people and martial artitsts. I, myself, have had the fortune to meet and work with some of the best people in my industry and the health and fitness industry as well. Not to mention that I have my health and weigh almost 45 lbs more of solid muscle. I look forward to becoming the best martial artist that I can be in the future to come. The school has so much to offer from CrossPit Fitness, Fitness Kickboxing, MMA, Tradtional Martial Arts and Tai Chi. It truly is a place for everyone.
